Our History
Van der Spuy upholsterers was founded in 1938 by Andrew Lutter Van der Spuy and has since developed from a one man show to a company with more than 20 employees.
After the death of the founder Andrew, his son Daniel Josif Van der Spuy took ownership of the business. With his expert knowledge of the industry, reupholstering of furniture and the vision to expand the business, he started to do work in related fields, which included motor trimming, blinds, curtaining, headboards, pelmets, ottomans, designers and custom-made furniture. The company is now owned by the 3rd generation of Van der Spuys` since it was founded.
